Motor Bikes on the sidewalk

Motor Bikes on the sidewalk

At least we could walk on this sidewalk--most of the sidewalks in the old quarter are covered with parked bikes so you have to walk in the street.

Here is a quiet street in Hanoi's Old Quarter. We found that the streets were less crowded outside of this area. Streets within the Old Quarter can be very dangerous to cross.

A quilt of old and new

This is typical of the Old Quarter where we are staying in Hanoi. Old meets new meets old again. Lovely in it's own way.

Around Lake Hoan Kiem

There is a walking trail that surrounds this lake, with restaurants and coffee houses. It is the prettiest part of Hanoi.
